It reminded me of the last few books of Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series that stretched two books into three using similar tactics. Amazon Second Chance Pass it on, trade it in, give it a second life. There’s a problem loading this menu right now. And he also faces the greater threat of the Ro-Xayans infernp in the previous book destroyed the Deep Zone planet Candela with two asteroids.
I feel like I’ve beaten up on these guys a lot more than they deserve. ifnerno

This series seems very comparable to Anderson’s Saga of the Seven Suns to me and that’s certain opera and not military, despite the war at it’s center. I’ve read just about everything Kevin writes and Inferno did not disappoint. Diadem Michella, embroiled in the schemes of the ancient noble families on the decadent capital planet Sonjeera, is too distracted to recognize the danger Adolphus poses.
The final book in the Brian Herbert and Kevin J. There are some ships in it occasionally and quite a bit of strategy with the rebellion, but it’s not about battles and military operations.
